Scored top grades in your SPM 2024? Here’s exciting news! Applications for the prestigious JPA Scholarships 2025 are now open from 28 April to 11 May 2025. This is your chance to study at top universities in Malaysia or abroad with financial support, recognizing the hard work you put into your studies over the past year. Below is a guide to the different JPA scholarships you can apply for.
1. Program Khas Lepasan SPM Dalam Negara (LSPM) 2025
What It Is:
The LSPM scholarship is designed for SPM 2024 students who scored a minimum of 9A+ regardless of subjects taken. It covers both preparatory studies and undergraduate degrees at local public universities, government-linked institutions, or selected private universities, provided you meet JPA’s grade requirements.
Key Details:
- Minimum 9A+ in SPM required.
- Covers local preparatory studies such as STPM, STAM, Matrikulasi, Asasi, and Foundation.
- Degree options available for most fields, excluding medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, paramedics, education, professional qualifications (ACCA, CLP), double degrees, and distance learning programmes.
- Students cannot self-fund preparatory studies if they want a degree scholarship.
- Failure to meet minimum grades in preparatory studies will terminate the sponsorship.
- Sponsorship is provided as a convertible loan.
Application Process:
- Apply online via the official JPA website.
- Deadline: 11 May 2025 at 5pm.
- Complete the Ujian Khas Penajaan Persekutuan (UKPP) via e-Permohonan. Failure to do so makes the application ineligible.
- Print the Slip Pengesahan UKPP and Slip Pengesahan Permohonan as proof of submission.
- Selected candidates must attend the Student Assessment Centre (SAC).
- Results will be announced in the second week of July 2025 on the JPA website.
2. Program Penajaan Nasional (PPN) 2025
What It Is:
PPN is for top-tier students, sponsoring the top 30 SPM achievers to study A Levels at selected preparatory colleges before continuing to undergraduate studies at leading universities overseas (USA, UK, Australia, China) ranked by QS World University Rankings 2025–2026.
Key Details:
- Minimum 8A+ or 9A+ in SPM.
- Preparatory studies take place at Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) for 2 years.
- Students can choose from 20 top-ranked universities. If international admission isn’t achieved but A Level grades meet JPA standards, sponsorship may still support local universities.
- Sponsorship is provided as a convertible loan.
Application Process:
- Apply online through JPA.
- Deadline: 11 May 2025 at 5pm.
- Complete UKPP via e-Permohonan; print proof slips.
- Attend SAC if shortlisted.
- Results expected in the second week of July 2025.
3. Program Khas Jepun, Korea, Perancis dan Jerman (JKPJ) 2025
What It Is:
This scholarship targets students aiming to study engineering, science, technology, or social sciences in Japan, Korea, France, or Germany. Preparatory studies are done locally before pursuing tertiary education abroad.
Key Details:
- Preparatory studies at designated Malaysian institutions.
- Destination options:
- Engineering: Japan, Korea, France
- Science & Technology: Japan, Korea, France, Germany
- Social Science: France
- Sponsorship is a convertible loan.
- Must meet minimum entry requirements based on field of study.
Application Process:
- Apply online via JPA before 11 May 2025 at 5pm.
- Complete UKPP via e-Permohonan and print required slips.
- Attend SAC if selected.
- Results released on the JPA website in the second week of July 2025.
4. Program Khas Perubatan, Pergigian dan Farmasi Lepasan SPM (PPF2) 2025
What It Is:
PPF2 is a special scholarship for students aspiring to study medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy locally.
Key Details:
- Minimum 8A in SPM.
- Available at public and selected private institutions.
- Priority for students from M40 and B40 groups.
- Recipients must fulfil a government service bond after graduation.
- Sponsorship is a convertible loan.
- Must meet entry requirements for the chosen field.
Application Process:
- Apply online via JPA before 11 May 2025 at 5pm.
- Complete UKPP and print proof slips.
- Attend SAC if shortlisted.
- Results announced in the second week of July 2025.
5. Program Dermasiswa B40 (DB40) 2025
What It Is:
DB40 is reserved for students from the B40 income group pursuing Diploma or TVET Diploma programmes locally.
Key Details:
- Household income below RM5,259/month.
- Covers studies at public, selected private, and vocational institutions.
- Available fields: Science, Social Science/Arts, Engineering & Technology, Built Environment.
- Must be enrolled or have an offer from the institution.
- Sponsorship provided.
Application Channels:
- UPUOnline: Diploma at public institutions; deadline 18 May 2025. Requires C in Bahasa Malaysia & Sejarah, and 3 credits in other subjects.
- UP_TVET: TVET Diploma; deadline 15 June 2025. Requires C in Bahasa Malaysia & Sejarah, and 1 credit in another subject.
Eligible students who meet JPA requirements may receive sponsorship.
6. Program Khas JPA-MARA (PKJM) 2025
What It Is:
PKJM is for Bumiputera students excelling in SPM who wish to study engineering, science & technology, or social sciences.
Key Details:
- Two options:
- PKJM Luar Negara: Preparatory studies locally, then tertiary education in Japan, UK, or New Zealand.
- PKJM Dalam Negara: Both preparatory and degree studies at government-linked private universities in Malaysia.
